Webinar: Media literacy for libraries

Media literacy for libraries

This event has passed; read ALIA’s wrap-up.

Libraries are at the forefront of media literacy initiatives as our users continue to rely us as a source of trusted information. Recent research from the University of Canberra shows the extent of media literacy support being sought from library and information professionals and the areas of greatest demand.

Join leading media literacy researchers Sora Park and Barbara Walsh as they discuss the findings of the first ever survey into media literacy in Australian libraries and Canberra University’s new Media Literacy short course for LIS Professionals, specifically addressing the concerns, issues and advances in the media literacy landscape in the LIS context. Panellists from ALIA and NSLA will speak about the role of peak bodies in media literacy research and the Australian Media Literacy Alliance.

The webinar is free to attend but registration is essential.
