Open Borders Update 23-08-10
Progress
At the NSLA meeting in July, NSLA members endorsed the NSLA Position Statement on Mobile Technology, which outlines the principles that will guide the provision of user interfaces for handheld mobile devices.
In early August, the project group held a face-to-face meeting in Adelaide to discuss:
- requirements per library for the development of eResources authentication in Trove
- models for NSLA libraries to leverage from Trove, and interest per library in the models
- mechanisms and strategies for pushing NSLA content into the external web
- capacity and interest in two-way harvesting of user annotations between Trove and local systems.
The meeting was a great success, with eight of the NSLA libraries in attendance. Discussion and decisions from the meeting will shape the work ahead in the project.
The work on developing eResources authentication capability in Trove will commence in September.
