National & State Libraries Australasia Representing the National, State and Territory Libraries in Australia and New Zealand.

Priorities Strategies
  1. To strengthen the information infrastructure and improve access to information services.
  1. Review the NSLA Information Access Plan.
  2. Participate in cross-sectoral collaboration and partnerships, including representation on the CCA.
  3. Build cross-organisational search capabilities
  4. Contribute to the enhancement of Libraries Australia
  5. Initiate and deliver on joint digitisation projects
  6. Reimagine and explore new approaches to library services, including;
    1. mediated & unmediated online services
    2. resource sharing & document delivery
    3. online catalogues
  7. Promote national site licensing and consortium purchasing.
  8. Improve library services for indigenous people through support of the National Policy Framework for Indigenous Library Services.
  1. To encourage flexibility, rapid response and innovation within the library sector.
  1. Participate in workforce planning and library education initiatives.
  2. Promote the aspirations outlined in the NSLA Principles for the Digital Environment within NSLA libraries.
  1. To provide a single voice for member libraries – to governments, to the cultural and education sectors, and to other relevant bodies.
  1. Demonstrate the value of libraries in the economic, educational, cultural, social and intellectual life of Australia and New Zealand.
  2. Articulate the strategic directions for libraries in the 21st century
  3. Represent members in matters of public interest.
