We Love2Read!

Given its “Love2Read” theme, it’s only natural that Australia’s National Year of Reading (NYR) officially begins on Valentine’s Day.

The year kicked off in grand style at libraries, bookshops and schools around the country, including the national launch at the National Library of Australia today. Hosted by the ABC's Jennifer Byrne, with very special guests, including NYR’s patron, William McInnes, and Children's Laureate Boori Monty Pryor. During the launch, the state winners of the Our Story NYR collection were announced.

NSLA’s Australian member libraries are founding members of NYR, and have a range of exciting and innovative events planned, from author talks and touring exhibitions to an outdoor reading cafe and a booklovers’ tea party.

The growing calendar of events for the year is available on the Love2Read website.
